Allan McLennan, President & Founder,

An accomplished investor, equity principal, company advisor, entrepreneur, and public speaker, Allan is actively involved in entertainment technology within consumer web/IP, mobile, and wireless technology companies as well as an array of mature enterprises. Focused on the cross-hairs of technology, advertising and entertainment for over 21 years, McLennan is a recognized management, marketing and business development executive that advances the goals of advanced media and entertainment technology products worldwide. 

Working with cross-media platform advancements in OTT services; Digital Television; IPTV/iTV; mobileTV content distribution; iAdvertising; DVR/PVR hardware/software and M/VOD content companies around the world in France, Germany, Switzerland, Africa, Latin America, Asia and the US. Producing some of the most compelling projects over the last few years including: the first fully shot on a mobile phone television series to be aired on a US television Network - The Africa Diaries; advanced platform agnostic meta-data management technology platform; Brazilian market operations and expansion plan for leading US-based telecommunications corporation; Co-founder MipTV / Milia international iTV / digital media awards 2003 - 08; a Music video-on-demand cable television service all in addition to PADEM’s on-going advanced TV, interactive & digital entertainment advisory clients.

McLennan has an in-depth knowledge of the digital media marketplace worldwide for over a decade and a half. Prior to founding PADEM, in 05/06 corporately performed as President of the Rentrak corporation, a publicly traded and leading intelligence provider of media usage for network television (VOD), digital media, and entertainment (box-office/rental) industries leading the Advanced Media and Information Division, where he was quoted as stating that "in the advancement of entertainment, media and advertising, both the content and data are gold." Prior to Rentrak, he was EVP of Lumenati/NetTV (ASTB/residential gateway/digital TV’s & DVRs and MyTV MSFT Universal tuner), SVP and co-creator of Media Station, Inc’s; SelectPlay, the first globally deployed broadband Media and Games On-demand service (ATT, Comcast, NTL, NTT, Disney, infogrames – 3 million homes/300k plays); founding officer/VP Worldwide and EP at World’s Inc. one of the first 3D multi-user virtual commerce environments (Spielberg’s Starbright World and predecessor to SIM’s On-Line). McLennan has additionally worked around the world with companies such as Microsoft, Time-Warner, GREY, Amblin, Tsunami, Universal, Disney and more on projects in the advancement of digital media distribution. It has been written that "McLennan has been instrumental in shaping the growth not only companies he has worked with, but the broadband media on-demand media sector as a whole.”

McLennan cut his teeth in the advertising industry where he has held senior executive strategic and management positions with global advertising agencies (Saatchi, Grey) in the launch and management of some of the world’s largest and strongest brands (Lexus, P&G) all leading to his foray in the media technology, navigation and management realm.

With an MBA in International Strategy from Dominican University and a published writer (author Q3/02 CTAM global media-on-demand services, contributor Q2/03 NAB book - iTV international revenue models), Allan additionally not only serves as well as the International Chairman and a founding member of the iTV Alliance, but is an active member of ATAS (Academy of Television Arts & Sciences – Emmy’s), Producers Guild of America and active industry contributor (ADFESI - French iTV Developers, AFI, CTAM, CCTA, NCTA, CableLabs/OCAP, as well as has been an active mentor in AFI's Digital Media Lab.

McLennan is an active speaker at industry summits and conferences with most recently in Amsterdam at the International Broadcast Conference (IBC-09) on Mobile Content Distribution and at the 2010 International CES on Pay TV. He additionally sits on the boards of Udico Holdings, an invention management and patent creation company; in targeted advertising, keyword search and applicable technology suites, as well as Content Discovery Systems (deep search analytics and management).
